Port Blair, Dec 11: Acting swiftly on a news report published in a section of the local media regarding fresh encroachment at Boorkshabad village under Port Blair Tehsil, the Revenue Department has restored an area of around 500 sq. mtrs of government land by removing two numbers of hutments/unauthorized structures from the government land at Brookshabad village on Thursday. Criminal complaint (FIR) against the offenders for illegally trespassing into government property has been lodged at PS Pahargaon.
The general public have been advised to desist from encroaching government land and also to pass on information of any unscrupulous elements doing so, to the District Control Room, Port Blair over phone to 1070, 238881, 240127. Strict action will also be taken against any unscrupulous element resisting in eviction of encroachment, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman said in a release.
