Port Blair, Dec 04: Around 150 Islanders who were stranded at Chennai due to flooding were accommodated in Andaman Bhawans at Anna Nagar and KK Nagar. Most of them are students and patients.
All stranded Islanders at Andaman Bhawans Chennai have been provided all possible assistance including food and shelter. Among them 62 passengers who were stranded at Chennai Airport were evacuated on 03rd December 2015 with great difficulties by the Dy. Resident Commissioner, Chennai and his team.
As per the directions of the Lt. Governor, all those Islanders stranded at Chennai are being provided necessary assistance and facilitation besides providing free food and accommodation since 03rd December 2015 at Andaman Bhawans.
