Port Blair, Dec 02: A two month skill upgradation programme aimed at developing the skills of coir based artisans of Yuvasakthi has been underway since 30th November 2015 at three venues viz. RGT Road, Port Blair, YS Resource Centre, Bambooflat and Pahargaon. Conducted under the aegis of Coir Board (MSME, Govt. of India), SRO, Port Blair, each training centre will be imparting skill upgradation training to 20 members and altogether 60 participants will be benefitting by this programme. The inaugural session of the programme was attended by Mr.Manoj Kumar, Officer-in Charge, Coir Board, SRO, Port Blair and Mr.S.B.Shahid, Inspector, Coir Board alongwith office bearers of Yuvasakthi.
Inaugurating the session, the OIC, Coir Board pledged the support of his organization for skill upgradation in the spheres of coircrafts. Stressing that, the aim of this training is to empower the participants with required skills so that, they can be turned into entrepreneurs in the field of Coir, the OIC promised all sorts of support in future. The training would run concurrently for two months in all the three centres till 30th January 2016.
