Port Blair, Apr 30: The Part-Time Employees of Education Department today organised a Dharna infront of the Education department and demanded regularisation of their job. The Part-Time employees were given one month extension last time, when they had protested infront of Raj Niwas.
“Why the Education Department is hiring Daily Rated Mazdoors? Use our service instead of DRMs and regularise our job,” D Krishna Rao, the President of State Part Time Education Employees Association told media.
Later, leading the Dharna the MP also urged the Administration to regularise the services of all Part-Time employees.
“Till their services are regularised the Administration must increase their salary. At present they are not even getting their salary on time. Many of these Part Time Employees are serving in Education Department since last 22 years. I demand, NO DRM, NO BREAK IN THEIR SERVICE AND INCREASE IN THEIR SALARY TILL THEY ARE REGULARISED,” the MP added.
The MP told media that if these demands are not fulfilled he will launch a massive protest to press these demands.
