Port Blair, Nov 26: The Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a joint civil military multi-specialty health camp at Kamorta Island on Thursday. A Medical Specialist and a Dermatologist from INHS Dhanvantari, Port Blair, an Air Force medical officer from 15 FBSU, Port Blair and an Ophthalmologist from Andaman & Nicobar Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) participated in the medical camp.
Residents of the remote village of Kakana at Kamorta Island benefitted immensely from the camp, as 33 patients were examined. Also at CHC Kamorta, 188 civilians received expert advice from specialists deputed from the military and the civil. The civilian doctor was flown by service air craft for this purpose. The officer in charge of the camp Surgeon Commander Ajay Nathan, a medical Specialist, appreciated the assistance of ANIIMS in making the camps a great success.
Surgeon Capt Anil Pillai C, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Medical) of HQ ANC informed that the next major health camp would be conducted by INHS Dhanvantari at Diglipur as part of Navy Week Celebrations on 30 November 2015. He also thanked the Director ANIIMS for his assistance and initiative.
