Port Blair, Nov 20: The two-day Andaman and Nicobar State Conference of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions will begin on 21st November, 2015 with the Open Session of the Conference at 4.30 p.m. at Tiranga Park, Aberdeeen Bazar, Port Blair. Before the Open Session, a massive procession of workers will begin from Tiranga Park at 3 p.m which, after making a round of the main areas of Port Blair town, will culminate in the Open Session. Shri A.K. Padmanabhan, All India President of the CITU and CPI (M) Poliburo Member will inaugurate the Conference in the Open Session at Tiranga Park. Workers from various unions functioning at Port Blair and South Andaman areas will participate in the procession and public meeting.
On 22nd November, 2015, at 9.30 a.m., the Delegate Session will begin at the Auditorium of Hotel ACC, Mohanpura, Port Blair. Delegates and Observers representing thousands of members from various trade unions spread over the entire union territory of A & N Islands will attend the Delegate Session. General Secretary, CITU A & N State Committee will present the Report on the functioning of the CITU State Committee while the audited accounts will be presented by the Treasurer. The Conference will discuss the various aspects of trade union movements in the country in general and in A & N Islands in particular and make suggestions for strengthening the CITU. Com A.K. Padmanabhan will also address the Delegate Session on 22nd November, 2015. Resolutions on various issues of employees and workers will be discussed and adopted in the Delegate Session.
