Port Blair, Nov 19: The Govt. of India, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, A & N Islands, has approved relaxation of per capita income ceiling from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh for activities under PMEGP in respect of A & N Islands. Accordingly, activities like Vehicles (Cargo/Passenger), Fishing Boat, Scuba diving equipment, Jet Skiing, Eco friendly tourist cottage and Tourist fibre boat, have become eligible for grant of financial assistance under the scheme.
For eligibility for for transport activities (Cargo/Passenger vehicle), entrepreneurs will have to furnish NOC from the Transport Department for use of the vehicle for tourism or commercial purposes and a valid Driving License (PSV). For fishing boat, a license holder fisherman alone is eligible and the license should be obtained from the Director of Fisheries.
All other conditions of PMEGP Scheme remain unchanged and more details can be obtained from the District Industries Centre, Middle Point.
