PORT BLAIR, Nov 18: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a member of Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata, Government of India. As per the Memorandum of Association of the Zonal Cultural Centre, six persons who are renowned artists in various fields of art and culture are required to be nominated from the member states in its various bodies of the zone.
On the basis of the recommendations of the Selection Committee constituted by the A&N Administration, six new members have been nominated in various bodies of the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, GoI for the period 2015-2017. Mr B.K. Talukdar (Music & theatre), Smt. Ananya Karak (Music) and Mr. Mahananda Gomasta (visual arts) have been nominated in the Governing Body whereas Mr Nanda Lal Debsharma (Theatre), Mr. Shekhar Chandra Paul (Visual Art) and Mr Nimai Chandra Banerjee (Theatre) have been nominated in the programme Committee of EZCC.
