Port Blair, Nov 12: The Assistant Controller (LM) of the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs alongwith the team has been deputed on duty-cum-tour to camp at Little Andaman from Nov 14-15, 2015 to carry-out the verification and stamping of all the weighing & measuring instruments used in the region. In this connection, all traders, auto rickshaw owners/drivers and other concerned Govt./Semi Government Establishments of Little Andaman have been advised to produce their weighing & measuring instruments before the Assistant Controller (LM) on the above said date to get it verified/calibrated & stamped as required under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.
Anyone found using unverified/faulty weighing & measuring instruments at Little Andaman after the stipulated time will be viewed seriously and stringent legal action as prescribed under law shall be initiated against them.
