Port Blair, Nov 9: The District Industries Centre is implementing the flagship scheme of Govt. of India, Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), to empower the first generation entrepreneurs for setting up Micro Enterprises for their self employment. Under the scheme, the Govt. of India has extended a special concession to the Islands and accorded the approval for financing tourist vehicles, tourist boats, fishing boats, scuba diving equipment, jet skiing etc. The ceiling of finance is Rs 10 lakhs per project.
