Port Blair, Nov 04: It was reported by a section of the media regarding contract awarded directly to mainland based firm by flouting tender procedure. In this connection, the Tourism Department today clarified that the Tourism Division of the Department of Information, Publicity and Tourism, A&N Administration, has empanelled 5 firms through a proper tendering process to execute various media related printing and publishing works.
As per normal practice, IP department has obtained quotation of Designing, Printing and supply of Wall Calendars and Desktop calendars for the year 2016 from these empanelled agencies.
“It is reiterated that IP Department has not flouted any norms in awarding the work of Designing, Printing and supply of Wall Calendar and Desktop Calendar for the year 2016. Therefore, the news item appeared in the news paper is baseless and contrary to the facts,” a release issued by the Director of Department of Information & Publicity said here today.
