Port Blair, Nov 4: About 32 students from Coimbatore are currently on an educational tour to Andaman and Nicobar islands. The Andaman and Nicobar Command has organised a visit to naval ships at Haddo Jetty, Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY) and Floating Dock Naval (FDN) on Wednesday for the undergraduate students of Nautical Science Course at Coimbatore Marine College to get a hands-on understanding of work in a marine environment.
Besides visit to the naval ships, visit to facilities such as NSRY and FDN will afford a rare opportunity to the students, of exposure to the latest, state of the art processes being undertaken for repair and servicing of the ships, all in real time, a release says.
