Port Blair, Nov 01: A dead body of a lady was found on Saturday morning in a drain, close to Hornbill Nest, triggered a ripple in Port Blair city.
Although it is still not clear whether it is a case of suicide, rape or murder but experts believe that initial reports suggest it could be a case of murder.
Infact after nearly 36 hours of finding the body the police department has finally registered a Murder Case in this regard, which is a clear indication that the police department has got some leads in this case.
As per reports the deceased has been identified as a married lady of Machi Line area and a mother of a toddler. As per reports following some family problem, the lady came out of the house in the late afternoon but since she did not return home by night a missing report was registered by the husband of the lady at PS Aberdeen at 11.00 pm on Friday night.
However, on Saturday morning this body was found from Hornbill Nest area. The ‘Kurty’ of the lady was found on the other side of road, nearly 150 mts away from the site, the body was found.
The body had an injury on the head and it looked impossible that the body might have been brought to the other side of the road by mighty waves of Hornbill Nest area. Although there is a small tunnel under the road but possibility of taking body to the other side of the road by the waves, appear very little.
Although the police department is tight lipped but it is expected that the department will crack the case soon. The Post Mortem Reports was expected to reach to police by Sunday evening, but till now the report has not been shared with media.
