Port Blair, Oct 30: A middle aged lady doctor who came to these Islands on a tour with a delegation of other doctors committed suicide last night inside her room in Hotel Shompen.
According to reports the lady, Dr. S Annanti, Gynecologist was a patient of depression and had tried to commit suicide twice in past.
Hailing from Chinna Patna, Ram Nagar District, Karnataka was visiting these Islands with her Husband, who is a senior surgeon.
Last night most of the doctors had gone to Hotel J for some celebration but when her husband came back to the hotel he found doors are lock and Mrs. Annanti is not responding. When the staffs of the hotel broke open the door they found Mrs. Annanti hanging inside the room with ceiling fan.
Body of Mrs. Annanti has been kept in mortuary and will be sent to mainland tomorrow. The Son and Brother of the deceased reached Port Blair today.
