Port Blair, Apr 26: Chennai Bound passengers of Kingfishers Airlines had a horrible time yesterday, as their direct flight to Chennai was suddenly converted into an indirect flight, without any notice.
“When we reached Port Blair airport for boarding we were told that the flight will reach Chennai via Bangalore. However while booking tickets no such diversions were mentioned. Such change in route on the eleventh hour took us by surprise and we had no other option than boarding the flight,” said a passenger.
The ordeal of passenger did not end there. As per actual schedule the Kingfishers Flight was supposed to start from Port Blair at 11.00 am and reach Chennai at 1.00 PM. But passengers alleged that the connecting flight from Bangalore to Chennai was provided by the Airlines only at evening 7.00 PM.
“The two hour short journey became 10 hour long tiring journey only because of mismanagement of Kingfishers Airlines,” alleged the passengers.
Not only this, the security checking at Bangalore airport became an additional headache for Island passengers.
“I am going to attend a puja at Chennai so I brought four coconuts with me. The coconuts were allowed by security at Port Blair airport but not by the security of Banglore airport. Why this double standard?” alleged another passengers.
