Port Blair, Oct 28: An workshop was organized in the conference hall of the Municipal Council on Wednesday to create awareness about the Smart City Mission and its components to the civil society organization and pressure groups in the city. The PBMC has embarked upon the process of consulting the urban citizens of Port Blair city to elicit their opinion and ideas for incorporating that in the Smart City Proposal. During the workshop, a participatory micro planning exercise was conducted by using participatory tools such as SWOT analysis, group discussion, ranking and voting to identify the issues and priorities under the Smart City Mission.
The inputs gathered from this exercise after deliberations will be included in the Smart City Proposal. The participants in the workshop came out with valuable suggestion and ideas which are documented by the PBMC team. The PBMC team is also in the process of taking the inputs of the common public of Port Blair city to contribute their views and ideas.
