Diglipur, Oct 26: Principal Secretary Mr. Arun Baroka IAS, (PWD, Power, Relief & Rehabilitation) who reached Diglipur by helicopter today visited KHEP (Kalpong Hydro Electric Project) and various bailey bridges.
On reaching Diglipur secretary first visited Kalpong River and inspected drinking water source where the Secretary asked the authorities to take proper precautions to save the land erosion.
After that he reached Sitanagar Power Station and inspected the newly constructing building of the Electricity department. He asked the authorities to take action against the contractor for the delay of completion of the building.
After that he visited KHEP where he inspected Rock filled Dam, Valve house, Generator room, where he instructed the authorities to speed up the procurement of various necessary spares for the KHEP.
After that he visited the damaged Bailey bridge at Madhyam gram at Nabagram Gram Panchayat. After thorough inspection he ordered take action against the Contractor whose vehicle damaged the bridge while crossing the bridge. He also ordered the authorities to take up repairing of the damaged bridge and discussed alternate route for the Madhyamgram village.
This said Bailey bridge connects the Nabagram village with Madhyamgram.
The Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Arawa Gopi Krishna, Asst. Commissioner, Mr. A K Trivedi and HODs of various departments accompanied Mr. Arun Baroka during this visit. On completion of the visit he proceeded to Mayabunder.
