Port Blair, Oct 13: The Department of Physical Education JNRM Port Blair organized various sports competitions for boys and girls of the institute. The final matches of the competitions were held on Tuesday. In the Table Tennis contest for Boys (Single), Mohammed Sabir, BPE-II beat Wazid Ali of BCA-11, while Tapan Halder, BPE-III and T Krishna, BPE-II defeated Mohammed Sabir, BPE-II and Sajid of History-III in the doubles category. In the girls singles division (Table Tennis), Srithi Das, BPE-III defeated Sweta Dangol, BPE-II, while Sweta Dangol, BPE-II and Chitra, BPE-II defeated Srithi Das, BPE-III and Tripti Baroi, BPE-III in the double category.
In the Carom Boys (Singles), Mohammed Sabir, BPE-II defeated T Krishna, BPE-III, while N Eswaran, BPE-II and Joga Rao, BPE-II defeated Robin Mandal, P/S-III and Rohit Sai, P/S-III in the doubles division. D Bavane, Geo-III beat Rita Das of Geo-III in the Carom Girls (Singles), while Suma Kumari, BPE-III and Radhika Kujur, BPE-III defeated Sweta Dangol, BPE-II and Beryl, BPE-II in the doubles category. In Chess (Boys), Vivek of BPE-III defeated Vinod Uraon of B.Com-III, while T Mounica, B.Com-III defeated Sweta Dangol of BPE II in the Girls category.
