Port Blair, Oct 06: Recording his gratitude to the Lt Governor for introducing new air routes from Port Blair to Mainland and back, beside improved helicopter services within the islands for the welfare of the islanders and also making test night landing of passenger air craft possible which were the events of dreams come true for the islanders, Kuldeep Rai Sharma the PCC President has written a letter of request to the Administrator wherein he has stated that a large number of populace of these islands are from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand who have to visit their home towns on various occasions but for reaching to their native places all these residents of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh have to arrange railway tickets after reaching at Kolkata.
In some urgent cases they have to opt for Chennai route even and then for train tickets for those places.
Hence Kuldeep has requested the Lt Governor to Consider their hardship and to consider diverting flights from Port Blair to Delhi via Lok Nayak Jayprakash airport Patna, Birsa Munda Airport, Jharkhand and Lal Bahadur Sharstri airport, Varanasi. Such consideration will be very much beneficial to a large number of populace and also boost tourism sector to some extent, Kuldeep stated.
