Port Blair, Oct 06: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration is making serious efforts to tie up with several mainland based hospitals to extend the benefits of Andaman’s own Health Insurance scheme, known as Andaman & Nicobar Islands Scheme for Health Insurance (ANISHI) to all needy people.
The Lt. Governor of A&N Islands had officially announced the Health Scheme namely Andaman & Nicobar Islands Scheme for Health Insurance (ANISHI) on 26.01.2015 to provide better treatment for the needy Islanders.
The Health Insurance Scheme is presently providing coverage to those people belonging to BPL category of A&N Islands, Pensioner settled in A&N Islands after retirement and their dependent family members & Permanent residents with family income of less than Rs. 3.00 Lakhs per annum.
As per reports, so far, six hospitals have been empanelled at Chennai & Kolkata under the ANISHI Scheme, namely, Medica Super Specialty Hospital, Kolkata-(Multi Specialty Hospital), Peerless Hospitex Hospital and Research Centre Ltd., Kolkata-4-(Multi Specialty Hospital), JIPMER, Pondicherry-(Multi specialty Hospital), Dr.Agarwal’s Eye Hospital ltd, Chennai- Single Specialty(eye care), MIOT Chennai (Multi specialty Hospital), Basavatarakan Indo-American, cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad-Single Specialty Hospital (Specially in Cancer care).
“Arrangements are being made for tie up of hospitals like Kauvrey Hospital, Chennai-(Multi Speciality Hospital), Adyar WIA, Chennai (Single Specialty – Cancer Institute) & AIMS, Kochi under ANISHI Scheme,” a release from Andaman’s Health Department said here today.
The release added that efforts are also being made for empanelment of other multi-specialty hospitals located in and around City of Chennai.
