Port Blair, Oct 04: Taking swift action on a kidnapping case, the Andaman and Nicobar Police has rescued a minor girl of Andaman from Murshidabad District of West Bengal.
According to report on 21st September a resident of Port Blair’s Brichgunj area had registered a case of kidnapping of his sixteen year old daughter.
Following the complaint the Police Team of Police Station Telarabad under supervision of SHO Hari Narayan started investigation during which it was learnt that the girl had gone to Mainland India with a person named Abu Hanif.
On detailed inquiry the police team tracked the mobile phone location from Murshidabad District of West Bengal, from where Abu Hanif hails.
Soon a team consisting of Woman Sub Inspector Hemawati and Constable Yashwant Roy were sent to Kolkata, who rescued the girl from the residence of Abu Hanif at Murshidabad.
According to Andaman and Nicobar Police, while the girl has been handed over to family the accused Mr. Abu Hanif has been sent to Judicial Custody.
