Port Blair, Oct 01: District level Consultative Process on NEP on School Education, Higher Education, Teacher Education and Technical Education was held on 01st October, 2015 at Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder for North & Middle Andaman District. Dr. Jagadish Singh Manhas, Principal, MGGC, Mayabunder was the Chief Guest and Shri Sony Thomas, Up-Adhyaksh, N&M Andaman Zilla Parished was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions from North & Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad, Deputy Education Officer – Diglipur, Rangat and Mayabunder, Educationalists, Faculty Members of MGGC, Mayabunder, Heads of Schools and Teachers attended the programme and participated in the deliberation.
Earlier, Shri Mammen Thomas, Deputy Education Officer (Nodal Officer, NEP), Mayabunder welcomed the gathering and put light on the importance of the Consultative process for framing Education Policy.
The Chief Guest appraised one and all for active participation in the process and applauded the role of PRIs in framing the policies of the Government.
Various themes related to School Education, Higher Education, Teacher Eduation and Technical Education were discussed.
In the afternoon session, Block Level deliberation with the PRI Members from Panchayat Samiti, Mayabunder was held for Higher Education, Teacher Education and Technical Education.
The suggestions offered by the PRI Members and Educationalists will be uploaded in the portal www.MyGov.in in due course.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Shri Joshi Philip, PGT, GMSSS, Mayabunder.
