Port Blair, Sept 24: The Lt. Governor , Lt.Gen.A.K.Singh, PVSM,AVSM,SM,VSM (Retd.) visited Govt. Sr. Secondary School School line on 24.9.2015 at 10.30 AM to inspect Boys and Girls Toilet Block renovated by Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Shri.Anand Prakash, Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Shri.Raajiv Yaduvanshi, Principal Secretary (Edn), Smt.Tanvi Garg, Secretary (Edn), Shri.V.K.Bidhuri, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), Shri.Girish Arora, President ACCI, Shri.Krishna, Secretary, ACCI, Shri.Shyamal Chowdhary, Vice President, ACCI (Chairman, CSR Activities of ACCI), and members of ACCI were also present on the occasion. On arrival at GSSS School line, the members of the School Youth Parliament Kumari Aman Deep Kaur and Discipline Minister Kumari Shilpa Das welcomed the Lt. Governor, Chief Secretary and other officials.
The Lt. Governor, speaking on the occasion appreciated the gesture and commitment of the ACCI under CSR in taking up the renovation work of toilet blocks in the school. He also desired that the Banks and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) functioning in the islands should also come forward and take up such exemplary initiatives in other schools and educational institutions. The renovated Boys and Girls toilet block has been handed over to the Principal, GSSS School line and has been put in use from 24.9.2015.
