The Director General of Police, Shri Rajesh Malik, IPS, interacted with the BAR Association at Police Head Quarters, Atlanta Point on 09/10/2015. After congratulating the newly elected office bearers of BAR Association, the DGP appealed to them to aid and assist the underprivileged, who cannot afford legal services.
Members of BAR Association stated that they are taking steps to help those who need legal services. They suggested strengthening the GRO office in the Courts and strengthening the process of scrutinising the chargesheet by the prosecution. They requested for increasing the stipend paid to Addl. PP and also spoke of about the need for land to be granted for construction of BAR Association office and requested for considering the feasibility of an outpost to be established at Barma Nallah. The members of BAR Association requested for regulation of traffic in the Court premises.
The Director General of Police also discussed on implementation of e-Courts and linking it with the CCTNS project and initiatives taken for digitization, computerisation and increasing the convenience of the public.
