Port Blair, Sept 10: The Department of Art and Culture has invited all the cultural organizations who have applied for seeking Grant-in-aid from the Department of Art and Culture to furnish supporting documents in respect of the programmes organized during last financial year i.e. 2014-15. It was found by the Scrutiny Committee while scrutiny of the documents furnished by cultural organizations that majority of the Associations have not undertaken any activities of their own other than participating in programmes organized by the Departments for which they have been paid suitably by the Department.
The cultural organizations have given a long list of programme conducted in their annual report of activities but supporting documents does not speak about the same. Hence, all the cultural organizations those who have applied for seeking grant from the Department are advised to furnish supporting documents within a week or latest by 28th September,2015.
