Long Island, Apr 22: Nearly forty families living close to the sea in Long Island have been demanding for sea wall since last several years. Though they get regular assurance from Zilla Parishad but the matter was never taken seriously by the Zilla Parishad Member.
“The area doesn’t have a sea wall and we live under constant threat of ingress of sea, erosion and also tsunami and hence a sea wall is must to protect us from any future natural calamity,” said a resident of Long Island.
People living in the particular area now demand to either resettle them to some other safe place or to construction a sea wall on the priority.
