Port Blair, Aug 26: A meeting with retired police officers of A& N Police was held under the chairmanship of Mr Rajesh Malik, DGP, A&N Islands on Wednesday. Mr N.S Bundela, DIGP, Mr Atmaram Deshpande, SP, Mr Pankaj Kumar Singh, SP (HQ) and Mr Atul Kumar Thakur, SP (CID/South Andaman District were present during the meeting. Former police personnel were requested to put forward their grievances, views and suggestions for better community policing, welfare measures, recruitment, promotions, training of police personnel and improvement in the quality of life of citizens of this territory.
During the meeting, many retired police personnel aired their grievances and shared their views/ suggestions. The DGP assured that all possible help would be provided to retired police personnel and their family members. He also appreciated their suggestions/views and encouraged them to come forward with more suggestions to improve the service delivery of police and assured them of the resolve of Andaman & Nicobar Police to ensure a more Citizen-Centric A & N Police, a release says.
