Port Blair, Aug 25: An interaction meeting was held with the Principals of schools of Port Blair area under the Chairmanship of Shri. Rajesh Malik, IPS, DGP, A&N Islands on Tuesday (25/08/15) at 1100 hrs in the Conference Hall of SP(D)S/A Office. In the meeting Shri N.S Bundela, IPS, DIGP, Shri Atul Kumar Thakur, IPS, SP/CID &South Andaman District and Shri Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, SP (HQ)were present. During the meet, the principals and representatives were requested to put forward their views and suggestions on issues of student safety, traffic management at schools, alcoholism amongst children, staggering of timings by schools, parking near schools, self defence training program for students and other related issues.
The DGP has assured that the all possible efforts & cooperation will be provided to all schools of A & N Islands from Police Department on safety & security of students and also appealed to all the teachers to ensure that the message of ‘Inform, Educate and Enforce’ is brought to the notice of students and parents alike, for ensuring overall betterment of the prevalent situation.
