Port Blair, Aug 25: The Nehru Yuva Kendra here organized a three-day training programme of “Training of Youth Leadership and Community Development” in association with Vidya Yuvakendra Foundation, Bathu Basthi in the conference Hall of Vidya Yuvakendra Foundation recently. The training programme was inaugurated by Mr D.K.Katara, Deputy Director, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterpreises, Dollygunj. Mr Mohan Ram Kumar, Director, Vidya Yuvakendra Foundation, Bathu Basthi was the guest of honour.
Dr Katara spoke on leadership and personality development, while Mohan Ram Kumar emphasized on the importance of skill development and vision of Vidya Yuvakendra for skill development of young generation. Mr S Shivraj, Senior Coordinator of Vidya Yuvakendra Foundation also spoke on the occasion.
During the training, altogether 40 youth from various youths Clubs and Mahila Mandals of Prothrapur Block were trained on Communication Skills – how to interact with people and make speech, personality development, Life Skill Education (LSE), Programme Management : Process , barrier, how to make speech, Good citizenship: civic manners and respect for ethics & values, Responsible citizens: Promoting communal harmony, national unity and being Indian, Coordination and linkages with other departments and Agencies – What, Why and How?, Community Development: concepts and process; strategy to coordinate with developmental agencies and departments for upliftment of the rural youth and village communities”.
Earlier, Mr Kundan Lal, District Youth Coordinator, NYK Port Blair welcomed the gathering. Smti A Meena Mohan Ram Kumar, Director of VYK proposed the vote of thanks.
