Port Blair, Aug 24: The Regional Manager, State Bank of India has urged all the pensioners of A&N Islands to visit their respective SBI Branches along with their Aadhaar card & Bank Passbook for seeding of Aadhaar card so that they can enrol with the receipt of photography data provided by Aadhaar Department personnel during the time of photography.
The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi launched digital life certificate project named ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ on Nov. 10, 2014. This is an Aadhaar-based digital life certificate for pensioners of Central Government & State Government employees who are in possession of Aadhaar card can enrol for Jeevan Pramaan.
Earlier, a pensioner had to submit a physical life certificate in November each year, in order to ensure continuity of pension being credited into their account. By enrolling themselves with this project, pensioners will no longer require to submit a physical life certificate to banks.
