Port Blair, Aug 23: The NCC Senior Division/Wing (Army & Navy) cadets of JNRM, Port Blair lead by Associate NCC Officer Maj S Jayakumar, Capt KV Ramana Murthy (Army), ANO (SD) Sub Lt Satyam Setia (Navy) and PI Staff of Army, Navy & Air NCC under the guidance of Commanding Officer conducted a cleanliness drive at JNRM College yesterday.
Solid garbage/wastes were collected in college premises and its surroundings. The lecturers, students and general public appreciated the effort. An appeal was made to the college students to keep the premises/surrounding and thereby Island clean by throwing garbage in proper places, dustbin etc. The cadets were educated about the importance of cleanliness and their responsibility in observing the same at their localities to achieve the “Clean India Mission”.
The Principal JNRM Dr. Francis Xavier and other College staff extended their wholehearted cooperation for the drive. Since the day was also observed as “Sadbhavna Diwas”, the cadets also took pledge to maintain brotherhood, peace and harmony.
