Port Blair, Aug 23: A lecture cum demonstration classes on ‘first aid fire fighting and disaster mitigation & medical first aid’ was conducted among school/ College students, Govt. servants, general public by all Fire Stations including Fire Stations in the Islands at different locations under their jurisdiction. The training aimed at sensitising and creating awareness on fire prevention – fire protection including fire risk & disaster preparedness was held from Aug 17 to 21 in all the three districts consisting schools, Govt. building premises & public places/ villages.
Altogether 1263 school students, 146 teachers, 31 govt. servants & general public participated in the training programme. Such training is being organising every week by all Fire Stations of A&N Police Fire Stations to increase community outreach.
