Port Blair, Aug 21: As part of its 10th year anniversary conference scheduled to be held in the month of December 2015, Sunni Students’ Federation (SSF), a socio-religious organization, organized awareness program on consumption of health hazardous stuffs like pan, gutka, tobacco and alcohol etc., recently at Wimberlygunj. The program “Campaign against Intoxication” was followed by a rally from Gram Panchayat, Wimberlygunj to Kanyapuram School.
In his keynote address as the chief guest, Moulana Mohideen Saquafi Munderi, Manager, Irshad Educational Complex, Malappuram, Kerala, highlighted the hazards of consumption of poisonous substances and demanded imposition on ban in a phased manner by the administration. Dr. Chakrobarthy, PHC Wimberlygunj highlighted the dreadful effects of consumption of tobacco, pan parag, liquor etc. Moulana Rafik Saquafi Al Kamil, Mudarris, Markaz Dars, Wimberly Gunj said that consumption of such items not only kill our body but it also waste our money and make our society unhygienic..
Besides hundreds of people, Mr Abdul Azeez, Pradhan, GPSG, Mr P. Mohammed Haneefa, Gen. Secy, SYS Andaman, Mr K. Hassan, Ex Asst. Secy (Education) also participated in the event. About 50 people attended the oath taking ceremony promising not to consume such health hazardous stuffs and create awareness among other people to build up a healthy society.
Earlier, Ali Saquafi, President, SSF Andaman welcomed the gathering. Mr A Mohammed Mustafa, Gen Secy SSF Andaman proposed the vote of thanks.
