Port Blair, Aug 19: The State Committee of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and members of Anganwadi Karamchari Sangh, A & N Islands, have expressed gratitude to the Lt. Governor for increasing the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and Helpers and announcing the hike in his address on the occasion of Independence Day this year. About 704 Anganwadi Workers and 704 Anganwadi Helpers will be benefited from the hike in honorarium. The hike of honorarium of Anganwadi workers are a long pending demand of BMS and the announcement made by the Lt. Governor will boost the morale of the Anganwadi workers who work hard for the welfare of children, pregnant women and others attending the Centres throughout the islands, said BMS State General Secretary, Mr Ashok Kumar in a release.
