Mayabunder 15th August 2015: The District Administration of North & Middle Andaman celebrated the 69th Independence Day in the pleasant weather with variety of programs like hoisting of National Flag, garlanding statue of Netajil Subhash Chandra Bose by Chief Guest Mr. Arava Gopi Krishna, IAS, DC of N & M Adman District, Mayabunder.
Apart from giving details about various development works and implementation of Govt. schemes, the DC made announcement of computerization land records, progress of making temporary helipad and playground at Smith Island and Hanspuri under the scheme of MGNREGA, identification of 09 in nos. tourist places in the jurisdiction of Mayabunder to promote Eco-Tourism, setting up of multi-speciality medical camp at Dr. R.P Hospital with the help of Appollo hospital, Chennai and water treatment plant at Lucknow, Webi and Pahalgaon in his public address.
Subsequently the function concluded by conducting ceremonial parade by the department of Police and NCC cadets from schools and Govt. M. G Collage, Mayabunder.
The DC also inaugurated the gallery of “Kalam’s Corner” during the occasion and distributed sweets at inmates of Judicial Lock-up and patients at Dr, R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder.
