Port Blair, Aug 11: The necessity for conducting a survey for collection of data and preparation of reports/recommendations on various subjects like tourism, revenue generated, jobs created and skill mapping was discussed in various forums. Accordingly on request from the Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the students of JNRM will be conducting a survey in association with Tourism Department in various hotels/resorts to assess various information pertaining to room tariffs, availability of accommodation, facilities provided, telephone numbers, e-mail ID, etc. The information will not only serve the purpose of assessing the availability of hotel facilities in these islands and update the tourism website but also help to formulate necessary Tourism development plan in future.
All hoteliers have been requested to kindly cooperate with the students, who will be producing their ID card together with a letter from the Chamber and part with the information, said the President, Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Girish Arora in a release.
