Port Blair, Aug 6: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has provided Rs 1 lakh as social assistance towards death Benefit to Smt Sarita Devi, nominee of Late. Tapeshwar Kumar, who died on Apr 20 after an accident at Brookshabad Quarry. The cheque worth of Rs lakh was handed over to the dependent of the deceased worker by the Secretary of the Board last month. The Board also disbursed a sum of Rs 13,67,300 as social security assistance to 393 construction workers under various welfare schemes in the last 3 months.
