Port Blair, Apr 18: It seems supporting the law breakers have become a fashion in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. After BJP, now the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have also cried foul over arrest of political leaders in Cattle Pound Case of Lambaline.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray has urged him to release the arrested person and requested him not to arrest any one else in this case.
In his letter he mentioned that the impounded cattle were suffering inside the cattle pound due to total mismanagement from the side of PBMC.
“The cattle owners made all attempts to release the cows by paying the fine etc. to the Municipality but nobody was there to collect the fine,” the MP said.
Justifying the forceful release of cattle, he added that seeing pathetic condition of cattle the cattle owners took spontaneous decision to release the cattle from cattle pound.
“The Port Blair Municipal Council registered FIR and the Police arrested the husbands of the Municipal Councilors, who are very reputed social workers and who are not having any criminal cases or criminal backgrounds,” the MP added.
