Port Blair, Aug 03: The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray interacted with the Minister of Finance on July 31, 2015 and requested for review of the decision for rejection of the proposal for up-gradation of pay scale to the 37 Clerk-cum-Checking Inspectors and 224 Bus Conductors of STS Department from 01.01.1996 to remove the functional problems of the department as proposed by the A & N Administration.
Justifying the demand, Shri Ray expressed that the demand of the employees of STS Department for extending the up-graded pay with the monitory benefit is from 01.01.1996(6th CPC) and that would not be at any way under the purview of 7th CPC.
Normally the CPC enforces their recommendations from the prospective effect, but not from retrospective effect. So referring the matter to the 7th CPC will not serve the purpose.
Further in reference to the commitment made in the manifesto of the 16th Lok Sabha Election for the A&N Parliamentary Constituency, Shri B. P. Ray also discussed the issue for granting the back service with all consequential benefits to 495 Mazdoor of Electricity Department in compliance to the direction of the High Court dated 09.04.2013.
In response to the detailed discussion, the Minister of Finance has assured to re-examine the whole issue considering the above facts afresh, a communication from the MP Bhawan said here today.
