Port Blair, July 21: Accident cases in South Andaman and Middle & North Andaman districts has increased due to rash and drunken driving during the current year. This year 990 & 58 persons have been booked for rash and drunken driving in South Andaman District and North & Middle Andaman District respectively till 20th July. People have been cautioned not to drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol. During the traffic checking, in case of any argument or scuffle by the violators with police under the influence of alcohol then the proceedings would be videographed and legal action would be taken against such violators, said Superintendent of Police, South Andaman and North and Middle Andaman, Mr Santosh Kumar Meena, in a release.
