Port Blair, July 17: In a public meeting yesterday, the Jan Kranti Party, A & N Islands has announced the names of first batch of three candidates for the PBMC election to be held in Sept.2015.
Mr. S. Chattopadhyay while announcing the names stated that more names will be announced at the proper venue and time. He said that the candidates are young, energetic, honest and educated local youths. Once voted to the council they will do their utmost to serve the people of their respective wards. He further required the voters to give them a chance and try their sincerity.
The party General Secretary, Mr. Prakash Minj said that the party is dedicated to the development of the A & N Islands. He said the Chhotanagpuri community as a whole has contributed immensely for the development of the Islands but their contribution has been ignored by the administration.
The party has taken up their rightful cause and request the Lieutenant Governor to grant them 4% reservation in all govt. jobs and seats in A & N Islands.
The Working President Sri. Ram Babu claimed that allowance should be given to the unemployed youths of the Island like other states in mainland. The system of DRM employment should be abolished forthwith and regular employment should be given to them as DRM salary is much less than regular employment.
