Port Blair, July 03: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Mr. Vijay Kumar Bhiduri today released the Draft Electoral Rolls in respect of A&N Islands Gram Sabha Constituencies.
Addressing a press conference today, the Deputy Commissioner today said that period for lodging suggestions and objections beginning from 3-7-2015 ends on 24-7-2015 and the final publication of rolls will be made on 10-8-2015.
He said that the electoral rolls has been prepared in accordance with rule 10 of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Panchayat) preparation of electoral rolls and conduct of elections rules 1995 and a copy is available at the DC office and at designated locations.
He said that any suggestions or abjections to the inclusion or exclusion of names of voters residing within the territorial limits of the Diglipur, Mayabunder, Rangat, Ferrargunj, Port Blair, Little Andaman and Campbell Bay Gram Sabha in the electoral roll relating to AN Islands house of the people constituency should be lodged on or before the last date.
Further Mr Bhiduri also said that as part of Digital India Week the Andaman Nicobar administration has added revenue department and Directorate of Panchayat and Municipal elections at Andaman Nicobar Website.
Mr Bhiduri added that ROR of South Andaman has been digitalized and the digitalization of 9 villages of Municipal area has been done, the digitalization of remaining villages will be completed by November- December this year.
Adding to this Mr Bhiduri said that the voting in the municipal area will be done through electronic voting system and in Panchayat the voting will be done by ballet system.
Further he added that the panchayat and municipal election will be held in the mid of September.
