Port Blair, June 15: The 4th Finance Commission for Union Territories (set up under the administrative control on the Union Territory Division on Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India) would be on a visit to A & N Islands from 16.06.2015 to 21.06.2015.
The Chairman of the Commission is Shri R. Narayanaswamy, IAS (Retd) who since has served these islands as Chief Secretary, A & N Administration few years back, is familiar with the topography of these islands and its problems.
The other members of the visiting Commission are Shri Ved Prakash, IAS (Retd), Dr Mita Choudhury and Shri Alok Swarup, IAS, Secretary to the Commission. On 16th June, the Commission would be having meeting with the PRIs of South Andaman, meeting with the PBMC and interaction with senior officers of the Administration apart from the meeting with the MP of A & N Islands.
The meetings would be held in the Conference Hall, Secretariat, A & N Administration. Next day on 17th June, the Commission would be proceeding to North & Middle Andaman where they would be meeting the PRIs of North & Middle Andaman District.
On 18th & 19th June, they would be visiting Hutbay and Havelock. The Coordinating Secretary is Shri N.K. Sharma, IAS, Secretary (RD,PRIs&ULBs) and for further details, if any, may be sought from the Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs.
