Port Blair, June 12: After devastating Tsunami of 2004 the large inter-island ships stopped berthing at Katchal Jetty but since New Jetty is ready for such berthing, PCC chief Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor to consider directing large inter-island ships like MV Chowra etc to berth at Katchal island to enable easy transportation of men and materials which is a long pending demand of the population of Katchal Island.
