Port Blair, June 12: Today A consumer Awareness Camp was organized by State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission & Directorate Civil Supply at Billyground in Middle Andaman. The main objective of the awareness camp was to create awareness among the consumers.
On the occasion Justice Ashim Kumar Roy, President, State Consumer redressal Commission , MS BJ Thomas, Member State Consumer redressal Commission, Anish Benerjee, Assistant Director, Civil Supply, Port Blair and Mr. Suresh, Assistant Director, Civil Supply, Mayabunder addressed the gathering.
Justice, Ashim Roy elaborately explained about the rights and privileges of Consumers. He vividly stated that how a consumer can get compensation from seller for selling damage material or if any fault arises within the warranty period. Besides this he detailed that if any medical negligence is held with any one, and how he/she can claim to the District Consumer Forum or State Consumer Redressal Commission or National Consumer Commission.
Shri Uttam Mondal, Zillaparishad Member, Harinagar raised few question before the officials in connection the consumers privilege and right, Anish Benerjee, Assistant Director, Civil Supply Port Blair & Mr. Suresh, Assistant Director, Civil Supply Mayabunder assured the consumers and Zilaprishad Member that they will minutely examine their grievances and proper action will be taken.
All Shopkeepers and huge number of consumers from Betapur to Basantipur Gram Panchayat gathered on the awareness Camp. PRI’s and villagers appreciated this Awareness Camp.
