Port Blair, May 10: The Science Centre, Port Blair organized a Astronomy & Telescope Making Programme, which was basically aimed at introducing the young students in the field of Astronomy. Around 140 students from various schools of Port Blair took part in the programme, which commenced on 4th May 2015.
During the week long programme, the students participants were taught about the various aspect of Astronomy &Telescope making. The participating students prepared working models such as Astrolabe, width finder of Moon, Brightness Comparator, Telescope, Constellations & Phases of Moon. The six day theoritical and practical session was handled by Shri. Dinesh Kumar singh, PGT physics as a master trainer. On the final day of the trade, the students displayed and demonstrated the models prepared by them. Shri. H.N. Singh, Incharge, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) graced the programme as Chief Guest and gave away prizes to the student participants for their best perfomance.
