Port Blair, May 06: Mayabunder on 05/05/15 at 2130 hours, on receipt of information regarding illegal activities, Police team of PS Mayabunder comprising Insp. Abdul Sajid, SHO PS alongwith SI P.K.Pandey, HC R.K. Rathore, PC’s Zainudeen, Shahid, M.K.Roy, Mohd Asif, Mohd Aziz, Naw Seesa, Rose Mary, Bitchater, Philip, Sameer conducted search inside the jungle about half kilometer from main road of Burmadera and an under-construction building, recovered huge Padauk Timber.
Upon this, all the recovered padauk which includes 1) 02 Nos. Big size padauk trunk 2) 62 Nos. Hand sawn timber of dimension 4”x3” and length 2.2 mtrs approx. were seized on the spot under Indian Forest Act and detained the accused person namely Saw Maung Aung Mynt. All the seized Padauk alongwith detained person was handed over to Forest official for further legal action.
