Billyground, Jan 08: The Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Harinagar Mr. H.M. Roy with senior officials/Pradhan of adjoining Gram Panchayat raised their voice against improper and unconditioned situation of Primary Health Centre at Billyground.
According to details, a meeting was held on 3rd January, 2012 between the Doctors, Villagers and other PRI members to discuss the various issues pending with the working of PHC, Billyground.
As per the discussion it was underlined that there are certain areas where improvements need to be done on a very urgent basis; like there is only one Allopathic doctor who is taking care of all those out patient and admitted patients. The senior most doctor is presently on leave and to keep a control over the large number of patients another doctor is to be appointed very shortly to handle the ever increasing queue of patients.
Other demands include, posting of two more nurses and ward attendant/ Ayahs to address the patients need, posting of regular and permanent ambulance driver and demanded an additional ambulance at PHC Billyground, an up gradation and reconstruction of existing kitchen block to cater food to the in house admitted patients been requested, arrangement of cold mortuary van at PHC Billy Ground, modern laundry system to maintain the hygiene quotient in the hospital and also demanded the appointment of more pharmacist to ease off the burden being faced by a few appointed pharmacist.
The Pradhan of Harinagar Mr. H.M.Roy further added that if this time the Directorate of Health Services does not pay attention to the issue which has been raised many times then a fresh agitation and protest will be organized by Middle Andaman.
