Port Blair, Apr 30: The Electricity Department will exercise load shedding during evening hours for a duration of 2 hours area wise w.e.f 20.04.1015 from 05 pm to 11pm due to major repair work of expansion point leakage in the exposed portion of penstock at Kalpong hydro electric project. During the repair work of penstock, Kalpong Hydro Power Plant(3X1.75 Mw) will be non-operational and the power supply to North Andaman during this period will be met from Sitanagar, Austin and Rangat Bay Power Houses with a deficit of about 1.5 MW power. The interruption during non peak hours may also take due to unforeseen reasons like forced maintenance of DG sets, line faults etc.
05 PM to 07 PM :Aerial Bay, Kishorinagar, Mohanpur to Kishorinagar and Paschim sagar, 07PM to 09PM.
Part of Sitanagar, Krishnapuri, Madhupur-II to Hathilevel, Nabagram, Kalighat bazaar to Ramnagar, complete Khudirampur, part of RKG upto Medical.
09PM to 11PM: Diglipur Bazar, Subhash gram, Old Power house, complete Navin nagar area,Guest House area and Madhupur-I.
