Port Blair, Apt 19: A group of Jarawa youths on 13 April stopped a car at Pottatang ATR road and looted cash and gold from a family. The occupants of the Car were returning back to Port Blair by 3.00 PM convoy from Middle Strait.
According to highly placed sources the family later lodged a complaint at Jirkatang Out Post after reaching at Jirkatang, following which police team contacted AAJVS staffs. But even after best efforts of AAJVS staffs only a golden ring could be recovered from Jarawa Youths. According to public Jarawa stopping vehicle at Pottatang area, especially vehicles of last convoy, has become a regular affair. However, concerned Dy.S.P could not be reached for a comment.
